The Emergency Budget brought no immediate surprises and in many ways mimics the habit of the previous government, by announcing expenditure reviews and proposed changes to taxation.
Changes to Capital Gains Tax makes it imperative to ensure that, whenever possible, the potential burden is shared between partners and we will be discussing this matter with you further in your forthcoming Annual Review.
It is likely that there will be changes in Pension Tax Relief, with implications for the current age of 75 when pension funds have traditionally been used to purchase an annuity. Pensions are of particular importance to most of us and we will keep you informed as and when these changes are announced.
